Neal drops 30 in a losing effort to Dallas Baptist

AUSTIN, Texas – In an exhibition game, facing Division II Dallas Baptist in the first day of the St. Edward's Thanksgiving Tournament, the Concordia Texas men's basketball came up short, losing 103-90 on Friday inside the Recreation and Convocation Center.

Joe Neal had 30 points, and tied his career-high in rebounds with 12 in a losing effort. Ben Page had a season-high 21 points, reaching the free-throw line seven times.

Philip Meikle and Ronnie Hamilton both reached double figures, finishing with 11 and 10 points respectively.

After going back and forth with the Patriots early in the first half, DBU held a 12-point lead at the half. They would open the second half on a 9-4 run to make it an 18-point deficit. Concordia Texas would rally though, using a quick 11-0 run to cut it to 52-45, capped off by an Ephriam Price III three-pointer.

It would be as close as the Tornados would get in the second half as the Patriots began to pull away despite a 59-point second half performance where CTX shot over 56 percent from the field.

The Tornados will finish up the tournament with another exhibition matchup when they face host St. Edward's from inside the RCC at 4 p.m.
