TYLER, Texas – The Concordia Texas women's basketball team dropped a 64-45 decision to UT Tyler Tuesday at Louise Herrington Patriot Center.
Mercedes Ellison led the way for CTX with 10 points to go along with five rebounds and three assists in the loss. The Tornados fell to 6-4, 2-2 ASC on the year.
CTX was unable to get anything going offensively as they shot just 31.1 percent from the floor and went 2-for-20 from beyond the arc. The Patriots also ran early and often, outscoring the Tornados 20-6 in fast break points.

Jaela Dejean produced five points in the game to put her over 900 points in her CTX career. She currently is 98 points away from joining the 1000-point club.
UT Tyler led throughout, as they jumped ahead 13-2 in the early going and never looked back. They were led by Carissa Spiker, who produced 16 points, six rebounds and three assists in the win.
The Tornados will now take almost two weeks off for Christmas break. They return to action on Friday, Dec. 29 in a matchup with Wisconsin-Eau Claire in the UT Dallas Classic beginning at 2 p.m.
