HOUSTON – After tying the game at 79-all on an
Ephriam Price III three-pointer, Bethel College would win it at the buzzer as the Concordia Texas men's basketball team's four-game winning streak came to an end on Saturday.
Trailing 79-71 with under two minutes to play, the Tornados rallied together. After a
Joe Neal layup cut the deficit to seven, Price III followed with back-to-back threes to tie it up, the second one coming with just 12 seconds left in the game.
The Threshers would take the game at the buzzer though, following a missed three-pointer, they would get the baseline floater to go as the horn sounded and CTX lost 81-79.
Neal nearly had his third double-double of the season, finishing with a team-high 18 points and grabbing nine rebounds.
Joshua Samuels, meanwhile, was the leading scorer for the Tornados at halftime, scoring nine of his 12 points in the final 3:10 of the first half.
Concordia Texas now prepares for conference play as they will return home to face Belhaven on Thursday, Jan. 4 at 7:30 p.m. inside Concordia Fieldhouse.
