AUSTIN, Texas –
Ephriam Price III and
Ben Page both had season highs in points as the Concordia Texas men's basketball team raced past Centenary (La.) 99-81 Saturday at Concordia Fieldhouse.
Price III, a junior from Lake Charles, La., racked up 26 points while shooting 10-for-14 from the floor while Page, a senior from Cypress, Texas, added 20 points and eight rebounds. CTX moved to 5-3 on the season and are still unbeaten at home.
The Tornados built a large lead in the first half thanks to a 21-0 run. CTX went 8-for-9 from the floor in the run and knocked down three shots from beyond the arc.
In the first half, the Tornados shot an impressive 51.4 percent from the floor and 45.0 percent from 3-point range while the Gents were held to 38.7 percent from the floor.
Centenary made a run to cut the lead to single digits at 80-71 with 7:16 left to play. CTX responded with a 13-2 run in less than three minutes of game time to push the lead back to 20.
Along with Price III and Page, two other Tornados scored in double figures as
Joe Neal put up 12 points and
Joshua Samuels produced 10. Neal, a junior from Houston, also had six rebounds and five assists in the win.
CTX will head back to conference play on Sunday, Dec. 17 when they take on Ozarks in Clarksville, Ark. at 4 p.m.
