LONGVIEW, Texas – Katie Daniel led off the seventh with a home run, but the Concordia Softball team's rally fell short as they dropped the series finale against LeTourneau 5-2 on Saturday afternoon.

Daniel had two of the Tornados' three hits on the day, scoring twice and the one RBI. Shelby Burrus received the ball for CTX, pitching six innings while giving up only five runs on five hits.

The Yellow Jackets got on the scoreboard first in the second inning, pushing across two runs on a two-run home run.

The Tornados would get a run back in the fifth after Daniel pinch-hit and led off with a double. She came home on an LETU error later in the inning to make it 2-1. The Yellow Jackets responded with three more runs in the sixth to extend their lead to 5-1.

Daniel began CTX's rally in the seventh with a home run down the right-field line, but the next three batters would be retired in order as the Tornados lost 5-2.

CTX will return to Tornado Softball Field on Thursday to host Indiana Tech at 4 p.m.
