AUSTIN, Texas – A
Kennedy Coffin single was the lone hit for Concordia Softball, dropping the series finale 8-0 to second-ranked UT Tyler on Saturday morning.
Haley Dennett got the start for the Tornados, allowing only two runs through the first four innings, but the Patriots opened the game up with a six-run fifth inning.
CTX was unable to get a runner on till the fifth, down to their final out, as Coffin hit one through the left side.
Dennett started the game strong, turning a double play in the first and ended a UTT scoring threat in the second, getting back-to-back strikeouts to retire the side.
The Patriots scored a pair of runs on a double in the third and would bat around in the fifth to make it 8-0. After Coffin's single, a foul out ended the game on run rule.
The Tornados will next go on the road to face UT Dallas in a three-game series beginning on Friday, April 7, at 4 p.m.
