ABILENE, Texas – The Concordia Baseball team had an 11-run inning in the fourth and cruised to a 19-1 victory over McMurry on Friday night for their fifth-straight win.
The Tornados scored 19 runs on 17 hits, led by
Jake Valadez's three hits, including a three-run home run.
Caleb Maddox had a pair of hits and drove in four, while
Caleb Rodriguez,
Michael Evan and
Race Mellman had two RBIs too.
Matthew Brown earned his seventh win of the year, pitching seven scoreless innings and allowing only six hits to the War Hawks.
Dakota Brewton came on in the eighth, closing out the game.
CTX scored in only three of the nine innings, exploding for 11 runs in the fourth, scored six more runs in the sixth and added a pair of runs in their final at-bat. McMurry scored their lone run in the ninth to break up the shutout.
The Tornados will close out their regular season with a doubleheader against the War Hawks beginning at 1 p.m. before competing in the American Southwest Conference Tournament.
