Tornados fall on the road to 5th-ranked Trinity

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Concordia Texas Women's Soccer team suffered its first loss of the season in a valiant effort against fifth-ranked Trinity, falling 5-0 on Monday.

The Tornados (4-1) entered the game off to their best start in program history but faced the power-housed Tigers (4-1).

In the first half, CTX was in a stalemate with TU as neither team was able to find the back of the net. The Tornados made multiple saves include a goal-saving block by Erin Moore, while goalie Shelby Franco racked up a season-high 13 saves in the match.

The Tigers broke through the Tornados' defense in the 32nd minute, scoring the first goal of the night and leading 1-0. TU would add on a pair of goals before the end of the half and led 3-0 at the halftime.
In the second half, CTX would fire off two shots but were unable to get one past the Tigers' goalie for a score. TU would score in the 46th and 73rd minutes to extend their lead to 5-0, which proved to be the final score.
