ALPINE, Texas – The Concordia Texas volleyball team started American Southwest Conference play with a 3-0 sweep of Sul Ross State Friday at Gallego Center.
The Tornados dominated all three sets with 25-14 wins in the first two before capping it off with a 25-6 win in set three to move to 4-4, 1-0 in the ASC on the year.
CTX played phenomenal defense throughout the match, including holding Sul Ross to a -.409 hitting percentage in the third set and a -.146 overall attack percentage in the match.
Marjani Myles led the Tornados with eight kills while also notching five blocks and a .549 attack percentage. 
Carly Custer also had a fantastic day, recording 11 digs, seven kills, three service aces and a .353 attack percentage.
CTX recorded seven service aces in just three sets and out-blocked the Lady Lobos 9-0.
Next up, Concordia continues conference play Saturday against Howard Payne at 2 p.m.
