LONGVIEW, Texas – On the road for their second straight American Southwest Conference match, the Concordia Texas women's soccer team came up short, falling 1-0 to LeTourneau on Saturday.
The Tornados (4-3-0, 0-2-0 ASC) would tally nine shots in the game, but only two came on goal. On the defensive,
Shelby Franco had five saves with four of them coming in the second half.
The Yellow Jackets (5-1-1, 1-1-0 ASC) would score the lone goal of the match early on, taking a corner kick in the 4th minute and heading it into the net to go up 1-0. CTX had four corner kicks of their own in the first half but were unable to even the score and headed into the locker room trailing 1-0.
In the second half, the Tornados would remain in a battle, defending nine LETU shots in the half alone. On the offensive side, CTX recorded three corner kicks, but came up short as the Yellow Jackets ran out the clock to take the match 1-0.
Up next, the Tornados will return home to host UT Tyler on Thursday at 5 p.m. at the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex in Round Rock, Texas.
