AUSTIN, Texas – The Concordia Texas women's soccer team lost their first home match of the season on Thursday 3-1 against UT Tyler at Round Rock Multipurpose Complex.
The Tornados equalized with a goal by
Kaycee Moore in the second half, but were unable to take a lead and fell to 4-4, 0-3 ASC on the season.
Moore, a sophomore out of Azle, Texas, netted her fourth goal of the season in the 52nd minute to tie the game.
UT-Tyler opened the scoring in the early going with a goal in the fifth minute. After Moore netted the lone goal of the game for CTX, the Patriots answered with a goal of their own in the 64th minute to make the score 2-1.
Shelby Franco (4-4) played the entire game in goal, picking up 10 saves to notch double digit saves for the second time this season.
UTT scored their third goal of the game in the 90th minute to seal the victory.
As a team, Concordia recorded 15 shots, five of which were on goal.
Next up for CTX will be a home match against Ozarks which will be played at Southwestern University against Ozarks beginning at 1 p.m.
