Tornados drop Louisiana College 5-0

PINEVILLE, La. – The Concordia Texas women's soccer team scored five first half goals, including two from Kayla Carlove, to cruise to a 5-0 victory over Louisiana College Saturday at Wildcat Stadium.

The Tornados (7-4, 3-3 ASC) matched their season high in goals and scored five goals in a half for the first time since Sept. 17, 2016 against Louisiana College.

CTX started the scoring in the seventh minute when Carlove, a sophomore from Carrolltown, Texas, found the back of the net off an assist from Kaycee Moore.

Cayla Gonzalez followed with her eighth goal of the season thanks to an assist from Saray Mondragon-Olivarez in the 33rd minute. Gonzalez, a freshman out of Austin, Texas, is now tied for the fourth most goals in a season in school history.

Carlove added her second goal of the game just one minute later to record her second multi-goal game of the season. The goal came off the second assist of the game for Mondragon-Olivarez.

In the 37th minute, Skylar Larkin scored her first goal of the season to make the score 4-0.

Pamela Lasprilla added the fifth and final goal off an assist from Erin Moore in the 41st minute to help the Tornados get their third straight victory.

Shelby Franco and Haley Dennett combined for the shutout. It was the third shutout of the season for CTX.

Next up, the Tornados take on UT Dallas in a home match Thursday beginning at 5 p.m.
