AUSTIN, Texas - Cayla Gonzalez continued her hot start to the season by scoring two goals and helping Concordia Texas grab a 3-0 win over Schreiner Tuesday at Round Rock Mulitipurpose Complex.

Gonzalez, a freshman from Austin, Texas, has now scored six goals in her first three games as a Tornado and has helped CTX start 3-0 for the first time since 2014.

CTX opened the scoring in the 26th minute when Gonzalez hit a shot from the right side of the box and found the back of the net.

The Tornados increased their lead 10 minutes later after Gonzalez hit her second goal of the game off a cross from Kayla Carlove to make it 2-0.

Gonzalez's six goals in three games sets a new school record for the most goals in the first three games of a season. Additionally, CTX has also set a team school record for the most goals in the first three games of a season with 12. The previous high was eight in 2005.

Kaycee Moore added the third goal of the game for the Tornados in the 82nd minute on a breakaway. Moore, a sophomore from Azle, Texas, now has two goals in three matches this season.

The defense for CTX was solid throughout, as they pitched their second straight shutout. Shelby Franco (3-0) played the full 90 minutes in goal and registered five saves to pick up her fifth career shutout.

Concordia held a 6-5 advantage in shots on goal as well as a 5-3 advantage in saves.

Concordia looks to remain unbeaten on the season Sunday in a home match against Texas Lutheran at 3 p.m.
