BELTON, Texas – The Concordia Texas volleyball team's six-match streak was snapped on Friday, falling to Mary Hardin-Baylor 3-1.
Georgia Quiroz and
Tristyn Massey each posted a double-double for the Tornados, who came up short 22-25, 25-14, 23-25, 12-25.
After dropping a tough first set, CTX responded with a dominating second set to even it at 1-all.
In the third set, the Tornados would go toe-to-toe with the Cru and led late 23-21. Mary Hardin-Baylor would come back though with a 4-0 run to win the third set.
In the final set, CTX was unable to grab the lead, falling 25-12 and its win streak ending at six matches.
Massey led with a team-high 13 kills and added 10 digs for her fifth double-double of the season.
Quiroz, meanwhile, had a season-high 19 digs in the match along with 35 assists for her eighth double-double of the year.
Marjani Myles and
Kelly Farina each had four blocks for the match, while
Rylee Davis added 17 digs for the night.
Concordia Texas will have a quick turnaround when they return home to host Schreiner on Saturday at 2 p.m. inside Concordia Fieldhouse.
