AUSTIN, Texas – The Concordia Texas volleyball team got back to their winning ways on Saturday, recording their 10th sweep of the season with a 3-0 win over Schreiner.
Marissa Stinson posted her 11
th match with double figures in kills as she led the way with 13 kills in the match as the Tornados won in straight sets 25-14, 25-15, 25-12.
Concordia Texas would trail 5-2 early in the first set, but would take control after a 14-1 run, aided by four kills from
Kelly Farina, going on to win the set 25-14.
In the second set, it was much of the same for the Tornados, who use a quick 7-0 run, including three straight kills, to propel past the Mountaineers to a 25-15 set win.
Concordia Texas would cruise in the final set 25-12 to wrap up a straight-set win.
Rylee Davis and
Tristyn Massey had 15 and 10 digs, respectively for the Tornados, while
Georgia Quiroz had a team-high 24 assists on the day.
Up next, CTX will return to conference play, traveling to Tyler, Texas for the second American Southwest Crossover of the season, facing LeTourneau at 1 p.m. on Friday.
