SAN ANTONIO – A trio of Tornados would finish in double figures but the Concordia Texas women's basketball team fell short to Trinity 91-73 on Monday.
Payton Berger,
Keturah Taylor and
Kaycie Dunkerley would each score 10-plus points in the loss, led by Dunkerley's team-high 15 points, while Berger nearly had a double-double with 11 points and eight rebounds.
The Tornados would nearly average 20 points a quarter in the first half, but trailed Trinity 57-36 at the halfway point after shooting over 50 percent from the floor.
Jordan Ozene knocked down a pair of threes and had eight points in the first half to lead CTX.
In the second half, CTX would outscore the Tigers 37-34, aided by Berger, who scored nine of her 11 points in the half.
The Tornados would make Trinity pay at the free-throw line as well, shooting 22-24 from the charity stripe for the game, but it was not enough, coming up short 91-73.
Concordia Texas will have over a week-long break before they return home to host Schreiner on Nov. 20 at 7 p.m. inside Concordia Fieldhouse.
