Page, Price III lead CTX past UMHB

AUSTIN, Texas – Ben Page recorded a double-double and Ephriam Price III put up 34 points to help the Concordia Texas men's basketball team drop Mary Hardin-Baylor 105-98 on Saturday at Concordia Fieldhouse.

Page, a senior from Cypress, Texas, showed out on Senior Night with 18 points and 16 rebounds to pick up his fourth double-double in his last five games as the Tornados moved to 15-8, 9-6 ASC.

After trading buckets for the majority of the first half, UMHB went on a 10-0 run to take a 50-37 lead with 2:43 left in the half. CTX responded with an 11-2 run of their own to cut the lead to four at the break.

The Cru shot 63.3 percent from the floor in the first half and 46.2 percent from downtown.

CTX kept the game close throughout the second half, never trailing by more than seven points. Then, with 4:42 left to play, Price III nailed a deep 3-pointer to give the Tornados their first lead of the second half 88-86.

After UMHB tied the game at 88, CTX went on a 9-1 run to go up by eight, capped off by a 3-pointer from senior Joshua Samuels to go up 97-88 with 1:14 left.

The Tornados proceeded to go 8-for-10 from the free-throw line in the final minute of the game to seal the win.

Price III, a junior from Lake Charles, La., finished just two points short of a career high coming off the bench. He joined Page, Samuels and Ronnie Hamilton as CTX players to score in double figures.

Prior to the game, the Tornados honored seniors Christian Colston, Page, Samuels, and Cory Smith.

CTX will finish the season with an impressive 9-3 mark at home, the best winning percentage since they finished 10-2 at Concordia Fieldhouse in 2015-16.

Next up, the Tornados will close their season with back-to-back home games, starting with a matchup in Brownwood, Texas, against Howard Payne at 7:30 p.m.
