AUSTIN, Texas –
Ben Page and
Ronnie Hamilton both registered double-doubles and five different players scored in double figures as the Concordia Texas men's basketball team dropped McMurry 107-84 Saturday night at Concordia Fieldhouse.
Page, a senior out of Cypress, Texas, produced 19 points and 10 rebounds while Hamilton, a sophomore out of Baton Rouge, La., added 12 points and 10 assists. CTX moved 14-8, 8-6 ASC on the year with the win.
Down 23-18 in the first half, the Tornados went on a 12-2 run to take a 30-25 lead they would not relinquish. CTX outscored McMurry 19-6 in the last 5:35 of the first half to go into the break leading 54-39.
The Tornados led by as many as 27 points after
Joshua Samuels nailed a 3-pointer to give CTX an 80-53 lead with 14:02 left to play.
Samuels, along with Page, Hamilton,
Maluw Deng and
Gabriel Spivey all scored at least 10 points in the win.
Deng, a freshman from Grand Prairie, Texas, had the best game of his career with a career-high in points, rebounds, blocks and assists. He finished with 14 points, eight boards, three assists and a blocked shot.
CTX was lights out in the game, shooting 50.7 percent from the floor in the win.
Concordia wraps up a six-game home stand next Saturday with senior day against Mary Hardin-Baylor at 4:00 p.m. inside Concordia Fieldhouse.
