BELTON, Texas –
Anissa Garcia had a hit in her third straight game but the Concordia Texas softball team came up short to Mary Hardin-Baylor, falling 11-3 on Saturday.
The Cru jumped out to a 6-0 lead after scoring two in the first and four in the second.
The Tornados would load the bases in back-to-back innings, scoring a pair of runs in the fourth after Garcia's RBI single to left-center.
Summer Harper followed with a sac fly to make it 6-2.
Mary Hardin-Baylor would respond though, scoring three runs in the third followed by two runs in the fourth to make it 11-2.
In their final at-bat, Harper would lead the inning off with a single followed by a
Haley Dennett base hit as CTX looked to rally. One out later,
Payton Walker would bring home a run with an RBI single.
Katie Daniel, seeking to extend the inning, was retired to end the game 11-3.
Up next, the Tornados will return to Tornado Softball Field for a four-game home stand, hosting Sul Ross State in a three-game series. Concordia Texas will play the Lobos in a doubleheader on Friday, March 23 at 5 p.m.
