AUSTIN, Texas – The Concordia Texas softball team would come from behind to tie it up in the seventh, but fell in extra innings to Southwestern 3-1 on Monday.
Down 1-0 and approaching their final at-bat, the Tornados would rally to tie it up at 1-all.
Anissa Garcia would lead off the inning with a single and come all the way around from first on
Summer Harper's RBI double to left center, forcing extra innings.
The Pirates would regain the lead in the next half inning with a pair of runs, both unearned, to make it 3-1.
In the bottom half of the 8th the Tornados would take advantage of two SU errors to put runners at first and second and no one out. Concordia Texas was unable to capitalize though, falling 3-1.
The Tornados will have a quick turnaround as they travel to Jackson, Miss., for a three-game series with Belhaven, set to begin on Thursday, March 29 at 3 p.m.
