ABILENE, Texas –
Tristyn Massey had a career-high 17 kills and recorded her first double-double of the season as the Concordia Texas volleyball team rolled past Hardin-Simmons in straight sets to open conference play on Tuesday.
Massey finished with 17 kills and a team-high 11 digs as the Tornados recorded their fourth sweep of the season, winning 25-17, 25-18, 25-20.
In the first set, holding a slim 5-4 lead, CTX would separate itself from the Cowgirls after an 8-2 run ad cruise to a 25-17 win.
The Tornados would take a two-set to none lead after closing out the second set with a 7-0 run, including three kills from
Marissa Stinson, who eight kills for the match.
In the final set, it would be a back-and-forth battle, leading to 19-all after a CTX error. But after a HSU error, the Tornados would go on a 5-1 run to win the set and complete the sweep.
