KERRVILLE, Texas –
Tristyn Massey picked up her third double-double of the season and the Concordia Texas volleyball team rolled past Schreiner in straight sets on Tuesday, for their third win in a row.
The Tornados totaled 41 kills, hitting at a .301 percentage, compared to 25 kills by the Mountaineers.
In the first set, CTX would fall behind 6-1 early, but recovered to tie it up at 8-all. The Tornados would finish off SU with a 17-5 run to take the first set.
In the second set, CTX would once again fall behind early, trailing the Mountaineers 7-0. The Tornados would chip away though to tie it up at 20-all. They would go on to win five of the final seven points of the set, capped off by back-to-back kills by
Alexis Bustos and
Sam Mendez.
Concordia Texas would wrap up their third straight sweep in a row when they closed out the third set with a 9-0 run to win the final set 25-15.
Massey finished the game with 10 kills and a team-high 11 digs for her third double-double of the year,
Kelly Farina also reached 10 kills, while Bustos had a season-high nine kills for the game.
The Tornados will return to conference play on Friday when they host Sul Ross State on Friday at 6 p.m. inside Concordia Fieldhouse.
