AUSTIN, Texas – For the fourth straight match, the Concordia Texas volleyball team rolled to a win in straight sets, this time defeating Sul Ross State on Friday inside Concordia Fieldhouse.
The Tornados would handle the Lobos easily, winning the match 25-15, 25-8, 25-19.
Tristyn Massey and
Marjani Myles each finished in double figures in kills as CTX hit at a season-high .348 attack percentage.
Rylee Davis had a team-high 10 digs, while Georgie Quiroz and
Lianne VanDyke both had double-digit assists for the third straight match.
Concordia Texas would also have a season-high 10 service aces for the match, led by
Alexis Bustos, who had a career-high six on the night.
After a dominating second set, the Tornados and Sul Ross would go back-and-forth in the final set. Leading 17-16, CTX would go on a quick 5-0 run to widen the margin.
The Tornados would wrap up the match thanks to a pair of kills by Myles for their fourth win in a row.
Concordia Texas will have a quick turnaround when they take on conference foe Howard Payne on Saturday at 2 p.m. inside Concordia Fieldhouse.
