ALPINE, Texas –

Carter, a sophomore from Dodd City, Texas, went 6-for-12 from the field while also pulling down six rebounds as CTX dropped to 7-12, 3-7 in American Southwest Conference play.
The Tornados jump ahead early, using two separate 6-0 runs to gain an 18-14 advantage at the end of the first.
With the score 23-21 halfway through the second quarter, CTX went on a 9-2 run capped off by a 3-pointer from

The Lobos fought back, however, closing the first half on a 6-0 run of their own to make the score 32-29 at the break.

Sul Ross turned it on in the fourth quarter, going 4-for-4 from 3-point-range in the final stanza. With the Tornados leading 56-48 with 5:45 left to play, the Lobos closed the game on a 13-4 run to take home the one-point victory.
Payton Berger also scored in double figures for CTX with 13 points to go along with seven boards.
Next up, the Tornados will travel to Brownwood, Texas, to take on Howard Payne on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
