PINEVILLE, La. – The Concordia Texas women's soccer team scored two goals in the first half and never looked back, rolling to their first shutout of the season to defeat Louisiana College 2-0 on Thursday at Wildcat Stadium.
The Tornados were aggressive throughout the game, registering 15 shots, nine of them on frame.
Concordia Texas did not wait long to strike as
Elisa LeBoeuf scored in the 3rd minute of the game and made it 1-0. For LeBoeuf, it is the first goal of her collegiate career.
In the 17th minute, the Tornados doubled their lead as
Kaycee Moore found
Savannah McHam, who fired her third goal of the season into the back of the net to push their advantage to 2-0. For Moore, she now has a team-high five assists on the season.
Concordia Texas allowed the Wildcats only three shots and led 2-0 at the halfway point.
In the second half, the Tornados' defense continued their strain on the LC offense, limiting them to only two shots, including one on goal, but goalkeeper
Sofie Gomez was there for the save.
It is Gomez's first shutout as a Tornado as CTX defeated the Wildcats 2-0 for their fourth win in conference play.
The Tornados will next head to Jackson, Miss., for a matchup against Belhaven on Saturday at 1 p.m.
