JACKSON, Miss. – The Concordia Texas women's soccer faced Belhaven on Saturday, tallying 13 shots, including six on goal, but ultimately fell short 1-0 at Belhaven Bowl Stadium.
Cayla Gonzalez and Elisa Lebouef each registered three shots in the game, but the Tornados were unable to find the back of the net.
The game remained scoreless between the teams in the first 30 minutes, before the Blazers broke through CTX's defense with a goal in the 36th minute to make it 1-0.
LeBouef looked to even the score late in the half but her high shot was saved by BU goalie Georgia Jordan and the Tornados trailed 1-0 at the halfway point.
In the second half, CTX would get two more scoring opportunities to force overtime.
Gonzalez recorded a shot on goal in the 87th and 90th minute, but Jordan was once again there for the saves as the Tornados fell short.
Concordia Texas will remain on the road when they head to Abilene, Texas to face McMurry on Thursday at 5 p.m.
