Tornados come up short to No. 4 Hardin-Simmons

ABILENE, Texas – The Concordia Texas women's soccer team registered 13 total shots against No. 4 Hardin-Simmons, but came up short 4-0 on Saturday  at the HSU Soccer Complex.

In the first half, the Tornados fell behind early as the Cowgirls scored four goals.

Concordia Texas looked to respond late in the half, but Stephanie Quezada's shot to the bottom left of the net was saved by HSU's goalie Kayla Gable.

At halftime, the Tornados trailed 4-0.

In the second half, CTX goalie Sofie Gomez kept the Cowgirls off the scoreboard, recording one of her four saves in the half alone.

The Tornados sought to cut into the deficit early on in the second half, including firing four shots on goal in a four-minute span, but came up empty and continued to trail 4-0.

Quezada had one more scoring opportunity in the final minutes of the game, but her shot was saved and CTX fell to HSU 4-0 in their final road game of the regular season.

The Tornados will return home and celebrate senior day on Tuesday when they host Southwestern at 7 p.m. at the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex in Round Rock, Texas.
