Moore, McHam lead Tornados past Ozarks

CLARKSVILLE, Ark. – Kaycee Moore and Savannah McHam each netted a goal and the Concordia Texas women's soccer team registered their first road win of the season, defeating Ozarks 2-0 on Thursday at Hurie Field.

The Tornados were on the attack throughout the game, recording 22 total shots, 12 of them on goal, while holding the Eagles to 11 shots and only three of them on goal.

Concordia Texas opened the scoring early as Moore, on an assist from Ashtyn Dilworth, found the back of the net in the 16th minute to make it 1-0.

The lead nearly doubled in the 25th minute on Kayla Carlove's shot, but UO's goalie Kiara Henry was there for the save. After 45 minutes of play, the Tornados led 1-0 heading into the locker room.

In the second half, CTX protected its 1-0 lead as goalkeeper Sofie Gomez tallied three saves in the half.

Late in the half, McHam provided an insurance goal in the 89th minute on an assist from Cayla Gonzalez to extend the Tornados' lead to 2-0 and secure the team's second win of the year.

Concordia Texas will next head to Richardson, Texas to face UT Dallas on Saturday at 5 p.m.
