VICTORIA, Texas – Erik Rodriguez registered seven saves as the Concordia Texas men's soccer team faced off against Houston-Victoria on Sunday, falling 4-0.

The Tornados tallied four shots on the day, including one on goal, but was unable to find the back of the net.

In the first half, the Jaguars scored in the 8th and 28th minute and held a 2-0 advantage.

In the closing minutes of the half, Chris Rivas looked to close the gap for CTX, but his shot was saved by UHV goalie Gian Marco Cordoba as the Tornados headed into the locker room trailing 2-0.

In the second half, CTX looked to trim the deficit.

Marco Vazquez had a scoring opportunity in the 53rd minute, but his shot went high.

The Jaguars, meanwhile, added on two more goals in the half, pulling away to defeat the Tornados 4-0.

Concordia Texas will have a long break before returning home to host St. Thomas (TX) on Sept. 22 at 3:30 p.m. in Round Rock, Texas at the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex.
