Tornados fall to Houston-Victoria in overtime

VICTORIA, Texas – The Concordia Texas women's soccer team would total 16 shots, including eight on goal, but were unable to find the back of the net, falling to Houston-Victoria in overtime on Sunday.

The Tornados and Jaguars would go toe-to-toe for 90 minutes, but remained in a stalemate, forcing overtime.

In the first overtime period, UHV would break through CTX's defense, scoring in the 97th minute to end the game.

Kaycee Moore and Pamela Lasprilla combined for five on-goal shots, but were unable to give the Tornados the advantage as Jaguars' goalie Amanda Bautista finished with eight saves.

In the second half, as the minutes winded down, Savannah McHam looked to put CTX on the board in the 78th minute, but her shot went wide.

Tornado goalkeeper Sofie Gomez, meanwhile, racked up a season-high 11 saves before the game-winning goal.

Concordia Texas will next turn their attention to Our Lady of the Lake. They will host the Saints on Friday at 6 p.m. in Round Rock, Texas at the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex.
