ROUND ROCK, Texas – The Concordia Texas women's soccer team faced LeTourneau, going for their second win in a row, but fell short 3-0 on Saturday at the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex.
The Tornados fired off 11 shots in the game, but were unable to find the back of the net.
The Yellow Jackets, meanwhile, opened the scoring with a quick goal coming in the second minute. LeTourneau would double their lead with another goal in the 17th minute and CTX faced a 2-0 deficit.
The Tornados looked to cut in the lead in the 22nd minute but
Alicia Pineda's shot went high. Minutes later,
Ashtyn Dilworth had a shot opportunity for CTX, but the ball sailed above the bar and the team trailed 2-0 at the break.
In the second half, the Tornados registered eight shots, including four from
Kaycee Moore, but were unable to execute a shot on goal.
Meanwhile, the Yellow Jackets would go on to push their lead to 3-0 after a goal in the 58th minute.
Concordia Texas recorded four shots in the final five minutes of the game, but came up short, falling 3-0 to LETU.
Next, the Tornados will head out on their first conference road trip of the season, traveling to Clarksville, Ark., for a matchup against the University of the Ozarks on Thursday at 1 p.m.
