MARSHALL, Texas –
Matthew Williams registered double-digit strikeouts for the fourth consecutive start, but it was not enough as the Concordia Texas baseball team fell short to East Texas Baptist 1-0 on Friday.

Concordia Texas and ETBU were locked into a pitcher's duel through the first four innings, as the teams had combined for only one hit.
In the fifth, the Tigers broke the scoreless draw with a solo home run and led 1-0 after five frames.
The Tornados looked to respond in the seventh as
Bret Leiferman reached on a one-out double but were unable to take advantage.
In the ninth,
Casen Novak ripped a one-out single through the left side but the following two batters were retired and CTX fell 1-0.
The Tornados look to bounce back on Saturday, closing out the series with a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. in Marshall, Texas.
