Kaspar, Tornados take convincing 4-0 victory over Dallas Christian

ROUND ROCK, Texas – Kaley Kaspar logged her first multi-goal performance, lifting the Concordia Texas women's soccer team to a 4-0 rout of Dallas Christian College on Sunday.

Kaspar's first goal proved to be the game-winner thanks to shutout effort from the CTX defense, and she added another in the final minute of the first half, providing the first two goals in the Tornados' dominating 4-0 performance.

Kylie Bowman, Elizabeth Jones, and Sheridan Habeeb each spent time in the goal, combining for CTX's second straight shutout. Habeeb picked up a save, and the Tornados' defense was suffocating, holding DCC to just five shots on the match.

The Tornados' offense was firing from the opening whistle, as Lauren Wenzel and Marissa Funk each fired a shot in the first five minutes, followed by a strike on-goal from Sammy Gillepsie in the 12th minute.

Kaspar checked into the game in the 19th minute and notched the game-winner just eight minutes later, giving the Tornados a 1-0 lead thanks to an assist from Erin Folkner.

In the final minute of the first half, Kaspar struck again, notching a second goal on another assist from Erin Folkner to give the Tornados a 2-0 advantage at halftime. With the two assists, Folkner has recorded three in the last two matches.

In the second half, Emily Mowrer advanced the CTX lead to 3-0 with a goal in the 75th minute, making it her fourth straight game with a goal scored.

Finally, Folkner added an exclamation point to the victory with her first career goal in the 88th minute, providing the final score in the Tornados' 4-0 victory.

Funk, Folkner, and Katie Fierro each fired six shots in the match, and Jenna Townsley recorded four, including one on-goal.

After taking a break from ASC play, the Tornados will get back into their conference schedule on Thursday, hosting Hardin-Simmons for 5 pm kickoff at Round Rock Multipurpose Complex.
