ALPINE, Texas –
Kallie Krenz netted a pair of goals on the day, leading the Concordia Texas women's soccer team to a convincing 4-1 road victory over Sul Ross State on Saturday.
Krenz recorded the first multi-goal performance of her career, scoring her fourth and fifth goals on the season.
After suffering their first conference loss of the season against Howard Payne, the Tornados bounced back with an overwhelming 4-1 win, advancing their ASC record to 5-1. Concordia Texas controlled the game early and never looked back, notching an early score and holding the lead for the remainder of the match.
Krenz found the back net with her first goal early, knocking in the first score of the game in the ninth minute to give the Tornados a 1-0 advantage.
The Tornados pressed the attack, recording five more shots on-goal before
Marissa Funk broke through for her third goal of the year, giving CTX a 2-0 lead.
In the final minutes of the first half,
Emily Mowrer extending the Tornados' advantage to 3-0, knocking in a goal after an assist from
Erin Folkner. This is the second straight match that Mowrer has found the back net, and Folkner's assist was the first of her career. At the half, the Tornados led 3-0.
The Lobos struck first in the second half, notching a score and making it 3-1 in the 60th minute.
The Tornados scored one final goal in the match, as Krenz put an exclamation point on the victory with her second score of the day in the 83rd minute. Ultimately, the Tornados took a 4-1 victory on the road.
The Tornados' back line, anchored by

Falynn Pyterek, held the Lobos to just six shots on the game, and
Lora Tresco picked up three saves in the goal.
After a brief stint on the road, Concordia Texas will return home for their next match, taking on Belhaven on Thursday at 5 pm in Round Rock, Texas.
