ABILENE, Texas – The Concordia Texas women's soccer team traveled to Abilene, Texas to continue their two-game stint on the road, falling 3-0 to McMurry at Wilford Moore Stadium.
The Tornados tallied three shots on the night, including one on goal, but were unable to find the back net for a score.
The Warhawks got on the board early, scoring the first goal of the game after eight minutes of play, and followed up with a second goal to take a 2-0 lead in the 27th minute.
McMurry's third goal came in the 36th minute, and the Tornados trailed 3-0 at the halfway point.
In the second half,
Cayla Gonzalez,
Emily Newton, and
Millie Hovnatanian all recorded shots, but after 90 minutes CTX remained without a goal.
The Tornados' defense held steady in the second half, and the match ended 3-0 after a scoreless second half.
Next, Concordia Texas will face off against Howard Payne in their home opener, hosting the Yellow Jackets at Round Rock Multipurpose Complex in Round Rock, Texas at 5 p.m.
