BELTON, Texas – After a two-week layoff due to the winter weather in the state, the Concordia Texas women's soccer team returned to the pitch to face American Southwest Conference foe Mary Hardin-Baylor, falling 3-0 on Wednesday.
The Tornados recorded five shots on the night, including one on goal by
Kallie Krenz, but were unable to net a goal.
In the first half,
Emily Mowrer nearly gave CTX the early advantage with a shot in the ninth minute, but it went wide left. Meanwhile, goalkeeper
Kylie Bowman registered a couple of early saves, but was unable to prevent a Cru goal in the 17th minute to make it 1-0.
Mary Hardin-Baylor tacked on a second goal in the final minutes of the first half for a 2-0 lead at halftime.
In the second half,
Patricia Heckendorn tried to break the shutout with a pair of chances in the 69th and 71st minute, but both shots went wide right as the Tornados fell to the Cru 3-0.
Next up, CTX will head to Alpine, Texas for a showdown against Sul Ross State on March 5 with a noon start time.
