BROWNWOOD, Texas – The Concordia Texas men's basketball team, led by

Concordia Texas opened the game with a sluggish start as the Yellow Jackets scored 10 of the game's first 11 points, forcing a CTX timeout. The Tornados regrouped and pulled even at 15-all with a 14-4 run, capped off by Hester's jumper in the paint.
Howard Payne retook the lead though and held a 27-26 advantage with 8:11 left in the first half. Concordia Texas took control from there. Fueled by Gonzalez, who scored six straight points, the Tornados closed out the first half on a 25-14 run and headed to the locker room with a 51-41 edge.
The Tornados did not let up to begin second half, opening with a 9-0 spurt, including two more baskets from Gonzalez to take their largest lead of the night at 60-41.
Howard Payne though, chipped away at the deficit throughout the second half and cut it down to 80-75 after a 3-pointer with 4:05 remaining.
Concordia Texas did not break thanks to Hester and
