AUSTIN, Texas – The Concordia Texas softball team came out on top in the rubber match against LeTourneau 5-1, picking up their first conference series win of the season on Saturday.
 
Bailey Tisdale was dominant in the circle, throwing a three-hit, one-run complete game with six punch outs to earn her third win of the season. 
 
The game remained scoreless after the first two frames despite a pair of base hits from Megan Cooper and Cristina Ayala, but CTX broke the tie with an RBI single off the bat of Landrei Stafford and took an 1-0 lead heading into the fourth. 
 
In the fourth inning, LETU answered with an RBI triple, evening the score at 1-1. 
 
Ayala started the bottom half of the inning off by reaching base on an error, and Elllie Congalton brought her home with an RBI single through the right side. Another base hit from Hooper moved Congalton to third, and an RBI groundout from Schmuck put the Tornados ahead 3-1 after four innings of play. 
 
The Tornados tacked on two more runs in the sixth, starting with a leadoff single from Hooper and capped off by a two-RBI double from Erica Riley, and CTX took a 5-1 lead into the final frame. 
 
Tisdale finished off LETU with a three up, three down seventh inning, and the Tornados picked up a 5-1 win over LeTourneau. 
 
The Tornados recorded 12 hits on the day, their fifth game with double-digit hits on the young season, and five different Tornados had a multi-hit game.  
 
Concordia Texas will be back in action on Wednesday, traveling to Seguin, Texas to play a doubleheader against Texas Lutheran at 4 and 6 p.m.
