SAN ANTONIO – Jesse West and Nico De La Pena extended their weekend with a pair of wins on the day, as the Concordia Texas men's tennis team competed in the ITA Southwest Regional Championships on Saturday.
 
West and De La Pena earned a spot in Sunday's flight B doubles semifinal thanks to stellar play on the weekend.
 
After coming out on top in the first round on Friday, the duo took down Howard Payne's Goff and Greenwell 8-1, and then moved on to Austin College's pair of Abe and Salyer, toppling them with an 8-1 rout.
 
Joshua Bode played his way to the Flight A quarterfinals after winning his first three matches on Thursday and Friday, but fell to Trinity's Cameron Krimbill in a three-set battle that went to a tiebreaker twice, ending 7-5, 4-6, 5-7.
 
After coming up short in the opening round, Jorge Garcia bounced back with a strong showing in the flight A consolation draw. After winning two matches on Friday, Garcia fell to LETU's Ryan Lyles 4-6, 7-6, 5-10.
 
West and De La Pena will be back in action Sunday, squaring off with LETU's McGinty and Barrero in the semifinal match of the flight B doubles draw at 12 pm.
