SAN ANTONIO –
Falynn Pyterek and
Emily Mowrer each had a shot on frame, but the Concordia Texas women's soccer team was unable to produce a goal, falling to Our Lady of the Lake 4-0 on Friday.
The Tornados, who nearly completed a comeback from a three-goal deficit on Wednesday, looked to bounce back against the Saints on the road, but were unable to find the back of the net despite registering eight shots.
In the first half, freshman goalkeeper
Lora Tresco was tested early by OLLU's offense, defending three shots in the game's first 13 minutes, including grabbing two of her 10 saves on the day.
Meanwhile,
Erin Folkner nearly gave CTX the early lead off a corner kick opportunity, but her header went wide.
The game remained a stalemate till the Saints broke through the Tornados' defense with a goal in the 40th minute and CTX headed to the locker room trailing 1-0.
In the second half,
Kallie Krenz nearly evened the game at 1-all in the 54th minute, but her shot went over the bar. A minute later, Mowrer followed with a shot of her own but OLLU's goalie, Nallely Infante, was there for the save.
The Saints found the back of the net once again, this time in the 75th minute, doubling their lead.
In the 82nd minute, Pyterek nearly scored her first collegiate goal, but the OLLU defense was there for the save and the game remained 2-0.
The Saints tacked on two more goals in the final 10 minutes of the game and went on to defeat the Tornados 4-0.
Concordia Texas will remain on the road, traveling down to Seguin, Texas for a non-conference showdown against Texas Lutheran on Monday at 5 p.m.
