Kallie Krenz and
Emily Mowrer each recorded shots on frame, but the Concordia Texas women's soccer team came up short against D-I opponent The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley 4-0 on Wednesday.
The Tornados fell behind early in the first half as the Vaqueros took advantage of a corner kick opportunity and scored the game's first goal in the fourth minute.

Lora Tresco had two of her five saves in the first half, but UTRGV added on two more goals in the half and the Tornados headed into the locker room trailing 3-0.
In the second half, CTX showcased a more stout defensive effort despite the Vaqueros firing off 11 shots in the period.
Krenz nearly cut into the deficit in the 55th minute with a shot on goal, but UTRGV goalie Macie Blohowiak was there for the save. Mowrer followed with a shot of her own in the 76th minute but was unable to find the back of the net and the score remained 3-0.
The Vaqueros added a goal late in the half and went on to defeat the Tornados 4-0.
Concordia Texas will have a couple of days off after playing three games in the season's first seven days, returning to the pitch on Sunday when they will face Cal Lutheran at noon in San Antonio, Texas on the campus of Trinity University.
