LONGVIEW, Texas - The Concordia Texas men's soccer team battled to a 2-2 draw against LeTourneau.
Melvin Molina and
Timothy Barney found the back of the net at LETU Soccer Field on Saturday.
The Tornados controlled the ball for much of the match, outshooting LETU 17-6 with a corner kick advantage of 7-2.
Theo Givens found Molina on a tap pass to give CTX the early lead in the 14th minute. Less than a minute later, the Yellowjackets tied the match up.
Concordia reclaimed the lead in the 29th minute when an
Antonio Rios' cross connected with a sliding Barney. With both defenses holding strong, LETU broke through with a second half goal in the 69th minute to tie the match.Â
With neither team able to breakthrough for the go-ahead goal in the final 20 minutes, the end result was a tie.
The Tornados will return home to take on Howard Payne on Thursday, Oct. 6 with a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.
