RICHARDSON, Texas - In day two of the UT-Dallas Classic, The Concordia Texas women's basketball team was down 61-52 against Covenant College. Zakari Perry (10 points, 10 rebounds) posted her first career double-double inside the UTD Activity Center on Friday.

Havyn Perez posted team-highs of 12 points & five assists, while Madi Maxwell added eight points and seven boards.

CTX started off the game on an 8-0 run, capped off by consecutive steals by Chelsea Cogborn (7 rebounds, game-high 3 steals) turned into layups by Perez. The Scots would answer with a 19-5 run to end the quarter.

A layup by Maxwell would get the Tornados back within two points at 21-19 with 7:28 left in the half. Covenant would utilize another run to take a 39-23 lead heading into the half.

Both teams would use stingy defense in the third, with each team only scoring 11 points each. CTX would crank up their defensive efforts even more and cut the Scots' lead to 53-48 with 4:52 remaining. This would be the closest they would get as Covenant would hold on for the win.

Concordia Texas will next travel to Seguin, Texas on Sunday, Nov. 27th to take on Texas Lutheran at 3pm.
