Women's Basketball drops 56-41 contest at Texas Lutheran

Havyn Perez (15 points, 10 rebounds) posted her first double-double of the season.

SEGUIN, Texas - The Concordia Texas women's basketball team was downed in 56-41 battle against Texas Lutheran. Havyn Perez (15 points, 10 rebounds) posted her first double-double of the season inside Memorial Gymnasium on Sunday.

The Tornados used impressive defense to race out to a 7-2 lead after the first media timeout. The Bulldogs would respond with a 14-0 run to take a nine point advantage into the second quarter.

Texas Lutheran's first half lead would grow to as much as 12 points, but CTX would stay within striking distance as Mackenzie Berger found Jordan Bravo for a corner three to make it a single-digit game with 3:08 left. The Bulldogs would take a 31-16 lead into the break following an 8-0 run to end the quarter.

The Tornados found great success in the third frame as they held TLU to only eight points in the quarter. Madi Maxwell and Perez would convert on back-to-back buckets to start the third quarter. Texas Lutheran would respond to take a 39-25 lead into the fourth. They would withstand a late push by the Tornados to hold on to the victory.

Concordia Texas will return to home to the Fieldhouse on Tuesday, Nov. 29th where they will host Southwestern at 7pm.
