AUSTIN, Texas - In the final game before the start of conference play, 12 Tornados saw their name in the box score of a 59-42 victory over Southwestern University.
Jordan Bravo led all scorers with 10 points, while
Bailey Andrews led all players with six assists inside the Concordia Fieldhouse on Tuesday.
The Tornados outdueled the Pirates in second chance points (17-5) and points off turnovers (21-10).
Concordia tied their season-best defensive quarter by only allowing four points in the first. The Tornados held a 25-12 advantage with just under two minutes remaining, before Andrews found
Alena Johnston for a four-point play. After Southwestern would convert a layup in the waning seconds, Andrews would dish the ball to
Chelsea Cogborn right before time expired to take a 31-14 lead into the break.
The Tornados would extend their lead to as much as 25 points en route to the dominant victory.
Concordia Texas will now host UMHB in the first conference game of the season on Saturday, Dec. 3 at 1:00 p.m.
