                    BOX SCORE ALPINE, Texas – The Concordia Texas Softball team dropped the final game of a three-game set against Sul Ross State, falling to the Lobos 7-5 despite racking up 10 hits on Saturday.
 
The two teams split Friday's doubleheader, making game three the rubber match, but the Tornados were unable to come away with a series win.
 
The Tornados offense produced five runs on 10 hits but still came up short in a high-scoring affair. 
Bailey Bryan was the leading run-producer with two RBIs, and 
Erica Riley and 
Kylie Woods each picked up two hits and scored a run.
 
After a scoreless first inning, 
Ellie Congalton drove in the first run of the game on an SRSU error in the second. 
Ashley Soto followed with an RBI fielder's choice, and the Tornados took a 2-0 lead.
 
Sul Ross State answered in the bottom half, stringing together three hits to score three runs and take a 3-2 lead after two innings.
 
In the third inning, Bryan delivered a two-RBI single, bringing Woods and Riley around to score. The junior outfielder gave CTX a 4-3 lead with two and a half innings in the books.
The Lobos erased the lead in the bottom half, plating two runs on four hits, and the Tornados found themselves behind 5-4. 
Sul Ross State tacked on another run in the fifth, spraying an RBI single into right field and extending their lead to 6-4. 
The Tornados earned a run back in the top of the sixth after 
Ashley Soto notched a two-out single and 
Amaya Guerrero, pinch running for Soto, came around to score on an SRSU error. Heading into the bottom of the sixth, CTX cut the lead to 6-5. 
In the bottom half, the Lobos plated another run on a CTX error, bringing the score to 7-5. 
Cristina Ayala and 
Ashley Hallmark picked up hits in the seventh, loading the bases after 
Megan Hooper reached on an error, but the Tornados' comeback effort came to a halt with a strikeout and a fly out. Ultimately, Concordia Texas fell 7-5. 
The Tornados will continue their stint on the road when they travel to Jackson, Miss. for a three-game American Southwest Conference series at Belhaven. The series will begin with a doubleheader on Friday at 1 p.m.
