AUSTIN, Texas – The Concordia Texas softball team wrapped up the weekend set with Mary Hardin-Baylor, falling 5-1 in the series finale Saturday.

The Tornados trailed early and were never able to completely close the gap, and a three-run seventh inning from the Cru added additional insurance. Ultimately, Concordia Texas fell 5-1.

Ashley Hallmark picked up two doubles in the game, and Ellie Congalton belted an RBI double.

After two scoreless innings to start, Mary Hardin-Baylor broke the tie in the top of the third, plating two runs on a pair of RBI walks. Heading into the bottom of the third, CTX trailed 2-0.

The Tornados cut the deficit in half in the fifth as Ellie Congalton drove in Caylee Spangle on an RBI double, bringing the score to 2-1.

In the top of the seventh, UMHB tacked on some insurance, scoring three runs on two hits and extending the lead to 5-1.
