ROUND ROCK, Texas - The Concordia Texas women's soccer team battled to a competitive 1-1 draw against the Huston-Tillotson Lady Rams.
Patricia Heckendorn found
Kallie Krenz for the equalizer in the second half inside the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex on Monday.
The Tornados were the aggressors for much of the match as they tripled the Lady Rams in shot attempts at 17-5 with a 10-3 advantage for shots on target. They also tallied six corner kicks to only one for their opponents.
In an active first half, the Lady Rams capitalized on one of their few offensive opportunities when they scored a goal following their lone corner kick of the match. This would hold as the only goal of the first half for a 1-0 score heading into the intermission.
Keeping up the pressure, CTX tied up the score when Heckendorn connected with a streaking Krenz in the 71st minute. Both teams would hold even for the final stretch for a 1-1 draw.
The Tornados will now travel to Marshall, TX on Thursday, Sept. 29 for the start of ASC play where they will take on ETBU at 5 p.m.
