Men’s Soccer Earns Clean Sheet at Hardin-Simmons

The Tornados fought to a draw in Abilene.

ABILENE, Texas- The Concordia University Texas men's soccer team earned their third consecutive clean sheet in a 0-0 standstill against Hardin-Simmons. Third year goalkeeper Brock Hendrickson posted four saves in a Saturday night matchup inside HSU Soccer Complex.

Concordia came out strong offensively to open up the match with second-year midfielder Gustavo Hernandez which attempted to put CTX on the board in the first three minutes of play, but his shot went just left.

The rest of the first half was fairly even between the two teams with Concordia out shooting Hardin-Simmons six to five to go into the half for a tie score of 0-0.

An attempt by Tornado Antonio Rios had a chance to put Concordia up early in the second half, but an HSU defender blocked him. Hendrickson made a stop for CTX in the final seven minutes of play, resulting in a scoreless draw.

The Tornados will wrap up their last game of the season on the road traveling to Belton, Texas for a conference matchup against Mary Hardin-Baylor University on Oct. 28 at 5 PM!
