ALPINE, Texas- A historic day by Concordia Texas women's soccer forward Kallie Krenz propelled the Tornados past Sul Ross State University by a score of 4-1. Krenz powered three goals in the first half to tally the Tornados' first hat trick since 2017.
The senior also notched an assist as her seven points was the most by a Tornado since 2011.Â
The Tornados struck first with a beautiful slip pass from Kaley Kaspar to Krenz in the 11th. Just five minutes later, Krenz intercepted a clear out for her second goal.
With a run and cutback, Krenz completed the hat trick in the 36th to take a 3-0 lead into the half. CTX kept firing on all cylinders just two minutes into the second half when Krenz fed a cross pass to Kaspar for their final goal of the match. Sul Ross converted on a penalty kick in the 59th for their lone goal of the match as the Tornados cruised to the victory.
Concordia Texas will now remain on the road and resume ASC action against Howard Payne on Brownwood, Texas on Saturday, October 7th at 1 p.m.
